Job Summary
To provide supervision of women/children in an emergency shelter setting, ensuring resident safety and adherence to the Policy & Procedures Manual; promote physical and mental well-being of residents. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a social work-related field or significant residential/childcare experience, with flexible hours including evenings, nights, and weekends. Candidate should have experience working with women and children in residential settings, strong communication skills, reliable transportation, and a valid driver’s license and insurance; bilingual ability adds 6% to base pay.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in social work-related field or significant residential/childcare experience
- Willingness and capability to work flexible hours including evenings, nights and weekends as scheduled
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, racial and socioeconomic issues
- The capabilities to implement appropriate child management techniques, which may include positive modeling and instruction for parents
- Excellent communication skills
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, proof of automobile insurance, registration, inspection and driving record
- Bilingual skills are compensated by an additional 6%, above base pay.
