Job Summary
Director of Education at Family Service of Rhode Island (FSRI) leads development, implementation, and supervision of the educational curriculum for students in the care setting, ensuring accreditation/licensure, aligning with RIDE standards, and integrating behavioral health supports within classroom settings. Works collaboratively with the Rhode Island Department of Education to maintain high-quality courses and materials, and supports equity and inclusion. Requires Master’s degree and 3–5 years’ related experience with supervisory responsibilities; Spanish speaking is preferred and compensated. Role involves community visits, both remote and in-person work, travel to various community locations, and adherence to PHI requirements; occasional evenings and a collaborative, multitasking skillset is essential.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree
- three to five years’ related experience and/or training
- experience developing programming in the special education residential setting a plus
- experience with children with behavioral/psychiatric challenges
- supervisory experience
- Spanish Speaking preferred and is compensated
- flexible schedule with some evenings
- ability to work independently and part of a team
- current driver’s license, reliable transportation, registration and auto insurance
- travel to and from community locations and office site, which could include stairs/elevators
- ability to lift up to 20lbs
- PHI compliance and de-escalation training
