Job Summary
The BICSI Certified Level II Installer is responsible for the installation, termination, testing, and documentation of structured cabling systems in accordance with BICSI standards, TIA/EIA guidelines, and project specifications. This role supports mission-critical infrastructure by ensuring high-quality, compliant, and reliable telecommunications systems within active data center environments. Responsibilities include installing copper and fiber cabling (backbone and horizontal), terminating CAT5e-CAT6A and fiber (single-mode and multi-mode), installing pathways (trays, conduits, J-hooks, ladder racks, raceways), dressing cables in racks and patch panels, testing and certification with Fluke equipment, troubleshooting issues, ensuring NEC/TIA/BICSI compliance, maintaining clean installations, labeling, completing test results and as-built drawings, documenting installation progress, and coordinating with site supervision. Safety and PPE adherence, teamwork with Level I Installers and Lead Installers, and mentoring junior installers are emphasized; familiarity with blueprints and scope documents supports accurate execution.
Required Qualifications
- Current BICSI Certified Level II Installer credential
- 3+ years of experience in structured cabling or low-voltage installations
- Strong working knowledge of copper and fiber optic systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and scope documents
- Experience with cable testing and certification equipment
- Familiarity with NEC, TIA/EIA, and BICSI standards
