Job Summary
Cable Splicing Technician for a project-based assignment in Denton, TX. Responsibilities include performing splicing, termination, and testing of 3456-count fiber optic cables; operating fusion splicing equipment; conducting fiber characterization, troubleshooting, and testing with OTDR and power meters; maintaining accurate splicing documentation and as-built records; and following safety guidelines on site. Required to pass a practical 3456-splicing test; preferred experience on data centers, backbone fiber builds, or large-scale telecom projects; strong attention to quality and ability to read splicing diagrams and work orders.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience with 3456 fiber splicing (required)
- Ability to pass a practical splice test on 3456 splicing
- Strong knowledge of fusion splicing, OTDR testing, and fiber optic standards
- Ability to read and interpret splicing diagrams, schematics, and work orders
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work in outdoor/field conditions
