Job Summary
Fiber Splicing Technician responsible for performing splicing, termination, and testing of 3456-count fiber optic cables, including ribbon and single fiber splicing, with a focus on quality and reliability. Roles include operating fusion splicing equipment, conducting fiber characterization and testing with OTDR and power meters, maintaining accurate splicing documentation and as-built records, and adhering to site safety procedures (OSHA) and QA/QC processes. Must pass ribbon and single cable splicing tests prior to starting. Project-based with potential for ongoing field work in Abilene, TX.
Required Qualifications
- Proven hands-on experience in 3456 fiber splicing, ribbon splicing and single cable splicing (required).
- Strong knowledge of fusion splicing, OTDR testing, and fiber optic standards.
- Ability to read and interpret splicing diagrams, schematics, and work orders.
