Job Summary
Fully bilingual Science Teacher responsible for implementing a rigorous, Common Core-aligned science program using a co-teaching model, developing engaging lessons, monitoring student progress with assessments, maintaining accurate records, and supporting student achievement across grades 6-12. The role includes preparing reports, tutoring students, writing IEP-related goals and progress reports, participating in teacher collaboration and professional development, and contributing to the school’s operational needs. Requires NYS teaching certification (7-12 or Special Education 7-12), a bachelor’s degree in science or related field, 1 year of teaching experience, and being fully COVID-19 vaccinated. Proficiency in data tracking, assessment practices, and technology tools (Illuminate Education, Microsoft Office, Gmail, Google Docs/Drive) and bilingual Spanish/English ability are essential. The position is full-time, in-person in the South Bronx (Mott Haven) with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 7:30 am–4:00 pm.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or related field
- New York State Teaching Certification 7-12 or Special Education 7-12 is required
- Fully COVID-19 vaccinated
- Bilingual Spanish/English
- Strong organizational, data tracking, and analysis skills
- Tech-savvy; familiarity with Microsoft Office, Gmail, Google docs/drive
