Job Summary
THCE Biomedical Equipment Technician II provides Planned Maintenance (PM), safety testing, repairs, calibration, and installation for general and specialized diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment as assigned by the Clinical Engineering Manager. Responsibilities include performing PM procedures per manufacturer recommendations and industry standards, diagnosing issues with electrical/thermodynamic/mechanical systems, communicating repair status to CE leadership, coordinating parts requests, documenting work orders, promoting teamwork, and providing on-call coverage. Requires strong customer service, ability to train others, and adherence to regulatory standards (OSHA, NFPA, Joint Commission, FDA) while traveling to Trinity Health facilities as needed. The role may involve leading duties and training Biomedical Equipment Technician I as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of an Associates of Applied Sciences Degree in related field of medical electronics, electronic technology or equivalent military or related training required.
- CBET certification preferred.
- Three to five years experience or equivalent, performing corrective and planned maintenance on medical devices and/or clinical support equipment.
- Must have a basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, The Joint Commission, CAHO, EOC, FDA and other specific regulations and standards pertaining to clinical equipment service and repair.
- Must possess a personal presence characterized by honesty, integrity and caring with ability to inspire and motivate others to promote Trinity Health, Ministry Organizations, and Clinical Engineering values.
