Job Summary
Sort textiles including soft goods, clothing, bedding, and linens by examining product condition and salvaging high-quality items for the sales floor. Price unique or high-value items using a computer system and tag all pieces with a tagging gun. Maintain productivity by meeting minimum production numbers and tracking processed pieces daily. Follow established safety rules, report hazards promptly, and complete a five-minute workstation clean-up each day. Operate in a warehouse environment involving extended standing, lifting up to 40 pounds, and exposure to varying temperatures and noise. Weekend and evening work required.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to count, add, and subtract
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Ability to follow all safety rules
- Must be able to operate a tagging gun
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and reach for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds
- Use of both hands
- Good manual and finger dexterity
- Ability to visually inspect and eliminate non-saleable donations
- Ability to efficiently and effectively perform all functions of the job
- Weekend and evening work required
