Job Summary
Grade donated textiles by brand and quality using the Goodwills good, better, and best grading process. Maintain the production area by keeping workstations clean, neat, and safe while adhering to established procedures for the Textile and Miscel power hour. Perform assigned duties within the framework of Core Principles, attend in-service training, and uphold a well-groomed appearance with appropriate dress code. This role requires standing and walking for long periods, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly, and utilizing color vision and close/distance focus. No supervisory or purchasing authority is exercised.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to adhere to the organizations Core Principles
- Knowledge of retail and/or stock handling
- Ability to react calmly and react to emergency situations
- Ability to listen and following directions
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Knowledge of shoe brands and current trends
- Level 1: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have beginner knowledge of
- Regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Vision abilities required by this job include: close, distance, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- Standing and walking for long periods of time
- Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, push and pull
- Sufficient mobility to turn from side to side and the ability to lean and remove items from containers
- Level 2: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Level 2: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Level 2: Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Level 2: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
Desired Qualifications
- Previous retail and/or stock handling experience is preferred
