Job Summary
Texas Organizer role focused on supporting local and state campaigns to reduce involvement of local law enforcement in immigration enforcement and to build capacity of organizations to address criminalization of communities of color. Responsibilities include co-leading strategy with local partners, co-facilitating coalition meetings, supporting policy research and implementation, maping local political/legal landscapes, building relationships with stakeholders, providing technical assistance and training from ILRC Texas attorneys, coordinating team training, producing community education materials, reviewing documents, supporting communications for local policy campaigns, and travel to the San Francisco office twice a year and to annual Texas team retreats. Requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, at least five years in campaign management and community organizing (preferably immigrant rights and criminal/racial justice issues), experience leading coalitions, campaign planning and project management, and proficiency in Spanish. The position is hybrid with two in-office days per week; compensation between $85,000 and $95,000 annually.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- At least five years in campaign managing experience for a political or advocacy campaign
- At least five years in community organizing, preferably in immigrant rights, related criminal and racial justice issues
- Experience leading and coordinating coalitions/ strategic alliances
- Experience with campaign planning and project management
- Proficiency in Spanish
- Proficiency in a language is a plus
