Job Summary
Tenure-track/tenured faculty in the College of Nursing at Texas A&M University seeking candidates with experience in aerospace nursing and extreme environments for full-time, 9-month appointments at the Bryan, TX campus. Appointments available at Open Rank (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor) depending on experience and qualifications. The initial research program should focus on aerospace nursing and extreme environments with potential for extramural funding. Teaching responsibilities include BSN and graduate nursing instruction, developing courses, preparing course materials and exams, supervising clinical experiences, advising and mentoring students, maintaining office hours, collaborating with faculty, and sustaining clinical currency and relevant certifications. Research/scholarship expectations encompass active participation in research and dissemination through publications and presentations, with external funding as an indicator of impact. Service includes university and professional involvement, mentoring junior faculty, and engagement in professional organizations. The position is a full-time, 9-month appointment with potential for summer contract. Qualifications include a PhD in nursing or related field with at least one graduate degree in nursing, and eligibility for Texas RN and/or APRN licensure; post-doctoral education is preferred. Required Qualifications
- Earned PhD degree in nursing or in a related field with at least one graduate degree in nursing
- Eligible for a Texas RN and/or APRN license depending upon credentials
- Experience teaching academic nursing (face-to-face, online, or clinical courses) at the baccalaureate or higher level
- Demonstrated clinical expertise in nursing
- Strong writing, public speaking, and presentation skills
- Ability to lead and function as a strong collaborator on interprofessional teams
- Highly organized
- Professional demeanor
- Ability to multi-task and establish effective working relationships
- Knowledge and understanding of the mission and role of the Land Grant University System
