Job Summary
Virtual Tetum language instruction and cultural instruction for the DLIFLC program, developing lesson plans, delivering online instruction across speaking/listening/reading, assessing student work, maintaining a positive virtual learning environment, and collaborating with Managers/Coordinators. Requires ILR 2+ or ACTFL Advanced-High proficiency in Tetum, English qualifications at specified levels, and experience with online teaching platforms.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Proficiency in Tetum or target language at ILR 2+ or ACTFL Advanced-High or higher
- Experience with online platforms (Canvas, Moodle, Adobe Connect, CL-150)
- Ability to deliver virtual instruction across Listening, Reading, and Speaking (L/R/S)
- English language qualifications (ILR 2+ or TOEFL/TOEFL iBT/TOEFL PBT or ECL or OPI-based)
- Ability to develop lesson plans and assess student work
- Native or near-native language capability in Tetum
- Experience in language and cultural education
- Understanding of DLPT/OPI assessment frameworks
- Bachelor's Degree (Desired)

- Experience instructing and developing adult learners' proficiency skills in Listening, Reading, and Speaking (L/R/S) as measured by the DLPT or OPI
- General professional proficiency in the specified foreign language (ILR level 2+ or ACTFL Advanced-High)
- Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) or 2-skill OPI from the DLIFLC or ACTFL-certified interview
- Proficiency demonstrated by a DLPT/OPI/ACTFL-based assessment
- English language qualifications including ILR level 2 or TOEFL/TOEFL iBT/TOEFL PBT scores, or ECL or equivalent
- Bachelor's Degree (Desired)
