Job Summary
Set up, operate, and monitor turbojet engine test stands and auxiliary testing equipment per engineering protocols. Conduct performance and functional testing on engines and components, collecting and analyzing data for quality and conformance. Troubleshoot test failures, interpret technical manuals, and maintain calibrated instruments to ensure accuracy and safety. Log results into digital records and support process improvement initiatives while adhering to ITAR and AS9100 standards. Assist with engine teardown and post-test inspections as required. This role supports the validation of world-class small turbojet engines powering advanced U.S. defense drones and interceptors.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or a related field in a testing facility
- 3+ years of experience in a testing technician role in aerospace, automotive, defense, or mechanical systems environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with high-speed rotating equipment
- Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Proficiency in using test and measurement tools such as pressure gauges, flow meters, thermocouples, and data acquisition systems
- Comfortable working in test environments that may involve high noise levels and outdoor conditions
- Due to the nature of PBS Aerospace's business as a defense contractor, this position is limited to U.S. citizens, as defined under applicable federal regulations
- 10% of international travel to Europe may be required in the first year
- Able to lift to 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working turbojet engines
- Familiarity with instrumentation systems and test automation tools
- FAA A&P certification or military aerospace engine test experience a plus
- Knowledge of ISO 17025, AS9100, or similar standards related to testing labs
