Testing Lead

Job Summary
Lead planning, coordination, and execution of testing activities across assigned projects, including developing comprehensive test strategies, plans, scripts, and documentation. Define testing scope, objectives, timelines, and success criteria while coordinating functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing. Partner with stakeholders to validate requirements, manage defects through identification and resolution, and ensure adherence to governance and quality standards. Assign tasks, monitor progress, communicate status and risks, and support test environment readiness and data preparation. Provide subject matter expertise, recommend process improvements, and deliver clear testing metrics to leadership. Support knowledge transfer and guidance to team members in a staff augmentation environment within a healthcare IT consulting firm.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, healthcare administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Demonstrated experience leading testing or quality assurance activities for complex technology projects
- Experience developing test strategies, test plans, test cases, and defect management processes
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and quality assurance best practices
- Experience coordinating testing across business, technical, and operational teams
- Strong analytical, organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a staff augmentation or consulting environment
- Ability to communicate testing risks and readiness clearly to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting healthcare information technology projects
- Experience with Epic, electronic health record systems, or other clinical and revenue cycle applications
- Experience leading integrated testing across multiple applications, interfaces, and stakeholder groups
- Familiarity with public-sector healthcare environments
- Experience supporting large-scale system implementations, upgrades, or optimization initiatives
- Knowledge of test management and defect-tracking tool
