Job Summary

Execute on-machine testing projects for Medium Track-Type Tractor software and controls to confirm program and customer requirements. Drive safety and quality by championing continuous improvement, developing test plans, documenting standard work procedures, and analyzing results from complex electrical and electronic systems. Leverage tools like Excel, DATK, CANape, and CAT ET to turn raw data into actionable insights while collaborating with engineering teams to troubleshoot technical challenges. Operate Medium Track-Type Tractors after training and apply hands-on skills to validate next-generation technology platforms. Work onsite five days a week in Peoria, IL, with less than 10% travel.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • Experience in testing or validation within heavy equipment, automotive, or industrial machinery
  • Experience designing and executing testing strategies
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite to create tools for task automation and data analytics
  • Understanding of Lean concepts for continuous process improvement
  • Experience with TCE, DATK, SuperComm 2, Cadet, Caterpillar Electronic Technician, CANape, and electrical troubleshooting
  • Background in product development, machine testing, mining, or electrical/electronic systems
  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods in varied conditions (indoor/outdoor, hot/cold, dusty)
  • Ability to safely operate equipment after training
  • Familiarity with automation or scripting (Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW) for test efficiency and repeatability
  • Familiarity with AI to automate testing or analysis
  • Experience with CAT digital (Visionlink, Remote Service, etc) & technology solutions (Grade, Detect, DSS, etc)
  • Must be available for 5 days per week in the office (M-F)
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with construction, forestry, mining or agricultural equipment is a plus
  • Top candidates will also have Analytical Thinking Skills Decision Making and Critical Thinking
  • Experience with CAT digital (Visionlink, Remote Service, etc) & technology solutions (Grade, Detect, DSS, etc)
