Job Summary
Perform power factor and breaker timing tests, analyze test results, conduct basic relay testing, and execute technical calculations for test applications. Execute cable proof tests, cable locating and fault locating services, and prescribed tests on underground network protectors. Assist with the installation and testing of mobile transformers, adjust substation recording meters, and support troubleshooting of electrical devices. Locate sources of radio and television interference and assist with substation modifications and power quality investigations. Stand on call assignments and respond to emergency restoration situations as required.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology OR associate's degree in electrical engineering or electrical technology OR formal education equivalent to an associate's degree in math and science
- Valid motor vehicle license
- Ability to stand on call assignments
- Must successfully pass the TECH test
- Ability to respond to emergency situations outside of normal responsibilities, work hours and location
