Job Summary
Coordinate and participate in installing units or systems into test fixtures, connecting valves, pumps, hydraulic controls, cabling, and indicating instruments. Set up tested products to proper operating conditions, collect corresponding data, and tear down equipment. Confers with engineering personnel to resolve fabrication problems, review test plans, and activate controls to apply power and subject items to successive test cycle steps. Monitor controls and instruments while recording test data for engineers. Examine parts for conformance using precision measuring instruments and recommend replacement of defective parts where needed. Provide basic data analysis to ensure quality and uncover trends under general supervision. Follow all safety policies, rules, regulations, and technical instructions; comply with 5S and housekeeping standards. Requires basic mechanical knowledge, ability to operate PC or PDP11 controlled equipment, and Microsoft Suite experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or equivalent (GED)
- Associates degree with a Technical focus or 18 months of related experience in general industry
- Basic mechanical knowledge and/ or basic knowledge of internal combustion engine, diesel/gas engines, test cell operations or data collection systems
- Ability to operate PC or PDP11 controlled equipment
- Proven ability to work successfully with computers, including Microsoft Suite experience
- Ability to successfully communicate and interact with other team members, customers, and management
- Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds
