Test Technician

Job Summary
Perform product testing activities in accordance with production work instructions to ensure quality, safety, and manufacturing standards. Troubleshoot test failures, perform debugging and minor repairs, and support failure analysis to identify root causes and minimize production downtime. Operate, maintain, and calibrate test equipment and fixtures while ensuring compliance with 5S standards and preventive maintenance requirements. Read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and technical documentation to support testing, troubleshooting, and equipment setup. Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance production efficiency and product quality. This role is based at Comet's Penang site within the Plasma Control Technologies division, focusing on manufacturing components for memory chips and touch screens.
Required Qualifications
- Technician Diploma
- at least 5 years of experience in semiconductor equipment manufacturing or a related electronics manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, particularly RF Matching Networks, RF Generators, and electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- ability to interpret technical drawings, perform failure analysis, and support root cause investigations
- Self-motivated, quality-driven team player
