Job Summary

Test Technician 2 role supporting testing and verification of power distribution equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing/production environment. Responsibilities include testing and validating performance with meters and HI-POT testers, reading blueprints and schematics, recording data and generating technical reports, performing inspections, completing Factory Acceptance Tests, installing and verifying cable layouts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet product specifications. Requires a high school diploma or GED with 1–2 years of hands-on testing experience (associate/technical degree preferred), experience with low-voltage power systems, familiarity with safety standards (NFPA 70E, NEC, UL, IEC), ability to read electrical documentation, and strong data-entry and reporting skills. May require overtime or extended hours as needed. Strong interpersonal and English communication skills are essential, along with a safety-conscious approach to maintaining a clean testing environment.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 1–2 years of hands-on experience testing low-voltage power distribution systems
  • associate degree or technical degree in electronics, engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Equivalent military training or experience in electronics, electrical systems, engineering, or related technical disciplines
  • Prior experience with low-voltage switchgear, power distribution units (PDUs), remote power panels (RPPs), static switches, and powered busway systems preferred
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70E, NEC, UL, and IEC safety standards and electrical codes
  • Solid understanding of three-phase power, DC power systems, electrical power generation, and AC/DC power distribution
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical documentation
  • Competence using computers and software applications for data entry, testing documentation, and reporting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and apply mathematical formulas and concepts accurately
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or extended hours as business needs require
