Test Support Engineer

Job Summary
Conduct functional, performance, endurance, and safety testing of high-pressure compressor products while developing test plans, procedures, and validation protocols. Safely operate test equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems to monitor performance and record accurate results. Analyze test data to identify trends and improvement opportunities, then prepare technical reports communicating findings to engineering and operational teams. Fault find test failures and work with production and engineering teams to eradicate repeat concerns and failure modes. Ensure all activities comply with Ingersoll Rand safety, quality, engineering standards, customer specifications, and applicable industry regulations. Maintain calibration and readiness of test equipment and facilities. Fully site-based with occasional travel to customer sites.
Required Qualifications
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience testing mechanical equipment, compressors or rotating machinery
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of pressure systems, test methods and safety requirements
- Experience using data acquisition, instrumentation and reporting tools
- Ability to write clear technical reports and present findings effectively
- Fully site based
- occasional travel to customer sites
Desired Qualifications
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (desirable)
