Job Summary
Test Specialist responsible for supporting test planning and readiness, executing in-process, system-level, and FAT testing, and maintaining traceability and certification packs. Works with Production, Engineering, and Quality to ensure products meet quality gates, diagnose faults, raise NCRs, and document test results. Requires interpretation of engineering drawings and experience with mechanical/electrical/integrated testing, FAT/inspection processes, NCRs, and calibration of test equipment, with involvement in audits, 5S/housekeeping, and HSE compliance. Onsite role based in Merthyr Tydfil, UK, with potential shift-based working.
Required Qualifications
- Experience within a manufacturing or production environment
- Background in testing assembled systems, machinery, or containerised units
- Knowledge of industry standards and quality frameworks (e.g. ISO 9001)
- Experience assembling, connecting, and operating test instrumentation
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications
- Experience with system-level testing (mechanical, electrical, or integrated systems)
- Strong understanding of production testing and quality control processes
- Ability to analyse and interpret test data and results
- Experience with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and inspection processes
- Knowledge of non-conformance reporting (NCR) and root cause analysis
- Familiarity with a wide range of test equipment and instrumentation
- Good mechanical and/or electrical aptitude
- Onsite role
- BPSS check required
- Experience supporting audits
- Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance
