Job Summary

Certify hardware and software field changes for A4W Fleet Interactive Training Equipment (FITE) prior to deployment, confirming operational values with expected plant responses. Support the development of field changes as other groups leverage preproduction units at the Bettis location. Cross-train to support the A1B FITE platform and complete assignments with minimal direction. Perform semiannual travel to other Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plant sites. Maintain active DOE clearance or DOD equivalent required for consideration. Join the Naval Nuclear Laboratory team developing advanced naval nuclear propulsion technology for the safety and reliability of the Navy's submarine and aircraft fleet.

Required Qualifications

  • Active DOE clearance or DOD equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience
  • Previous A4W qualification as Engineering Officer of the Watch (EOOW), Propulsion Plant Watch Officer (PPWO), or Engineering Watch Supervisor (EWS)
  • Semiannual travel to other NNPP sites
  • Ability to cross-train on the A1B platform
  • Ability to learn the simulation software platform
  • US citizenship
