Test Site Asset Engineer - Air Defense

Job Summary

Own the daily health of your assigned test site by monitoring status, performing hardware swaps, and executing command-line SSH troubleshooting to restore capability with minimal downtime. Coordinate with subject matter experts and logistics to resolve issues exceeding top-level troubleshooting or replace affected hardware, while clearly documenting solutions and communicating progress. Work with engineering to define correct equipment for representative testing and ensure assets across fixed, mobile, and flight platforms maintain reliable power and network connectivity. Create sustainment and sparing plans for parts, track failure rates to build cost models, and organize inventory with strict labeling and stock tracking protocols. Maintain lab spaces to high standards of organization and safety, fostering a culture where safety is the top priority.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in an engineering capacity or similar
  • Demonstrated problem solving at the interface of hardware, software, and networking in unstructured environments
  • Comfort working in a command-line environment (SSH, restarts, basic Linux workflows) to triage and resolve issues
  • Working knowledge of IP networking fundamentals — troubleshooting connectivity, IP addressing, and basic network issues
  • Strong communication and coordination skills — able to clearly convey technical issues to SMEs, drive cross-team resolution, and document outcomes
  • Familiarity with basic AC/DC power (single-phase, three-phase)
  • Demonstrated hands-on fabrication and assembly skills
  • Impeccable attention to detail and passion for creating and maintaining high-performing, organized spaces
  • Familiarity with Jira or other agile development software
  • Inventory management experience
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding, flexible team environment
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with environmental chamber equipment, vibration qualification testing, and/or battery discharge testing
  • Familiarity with electro-mechanical systems such as motors, computers, and power systems
  • Familiarity with hydraulics and hydraulic actuators
  • Experience with machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and 3D printing
  • Demonstrated sense of drive and ability to work in cross-functional teams effectively
  • Eligible for a US security clearance
