Job Summary
The Generalist, Ops. acts as a subject matter expert in Outlet/Salvage/Warehouse operations, cross-trained across areas for coverage, operating heavy equipment to move, store, and retrieve donated products while following warehousing procedures. Responsibilities include training others on forklift certifications, sorting recyclable materials, loading/unloading trucks and trailers, maintaining organized and safe work areas, preparing items for shipment, tracking shipments/receipts, providing customer service, and supporting additional duties as needed. The role requires operating equipment such as forklift, baler, and other warehouse tools, and maintaining compliance with safety and process guidelines. Education typically includes a High School diploma or equivalent, with eligibility to obtain Powered Equipment Operator certification; physical ability to lift up to 45–75 lbs and stand for extended periods; ability to work varied schedules including weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience as Goodwill Material Handler or equivalent Goodwill position/experience
- Able to obtain Powered Equipment Operator certification
- Ability to operate hydraulic baler and forklift; forklift certified
- Demonstrate ability to lift up to 45lbs unassisted and up to 75lbs with assistance
- Able to follow outlet and warehousing processes and guidelines
- Must be able to work varied schedule including weekends/evenings/holidays with overtime as necessary
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to operate equipment and ensure safety protocol compliance
