Job Summary
The V&V Senior Engineer role is reinterpreted here as a Test Lead responsible for leading and executing verification and validation activities for Cubic’s electronic systems. Responsibilities include developing requirements analyses, configuring data, and performing automated and semi-automated testing; defining test plans and procedures; conducting tests and producing detailed, repeatable reports; supporting off-site testing at customer locations or Cubic facilities; coordinating with manufacturing/industrial engineering on test times, equipment usage, and build configurations; and mentoring/test personnel across design, quality, and production teams. The role requires five years of test-methodology experience on electronic equipment, proficiency with test instruments (oscilloscope, multimeter, spectrum analyzer), experience in hardware/software/systems testing, and knowledge of EMC and environmental testing. Strong communication, problem-solving, and accountability competencies are essential, with a readiness to work across global teams and customer sites.
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in electronic engineering, computer science, information systems, or other relevant technical discipline (Essential)
- Five years minimum experience of test methodology on electronic equipment, preferably within a product development area
- Three years minimum experience in performing testing in hardware, software, systems
- Five years minimum experience of writing test plans, test procedures and test reports
- Five years minimum experience in using test equipment (oscilloscope, multi meters, spectrum analyser)
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel) and IT based tools
- Software knowledge sufficient to operate software interfaces based on message structures to the bits/bytes/data structures level
- Knowledge of formal EMC testing and environmental testing
- General hardware and mechanical knowledge
