Test Lab Engineer

Job Summary
Conduct performance testing on Pelletron equipment using customer-supplied bulk materials and evaluate physical properties like particle size and bulk density per ASTM or ISO standards. Setup and operate test apparatus to assess capacity, cleaning performance, and critical design parameters while documenting results in detailed technical reports. Design custom equipment and test apparatus to support new product development, engineering standards improvements, and R&D efforts. Maintain all lab equipment in operational readiness and perform upgrades to keep pace with current technologies. Assist in quality investigations and new product design modifications. Requires a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering with two years of related experience and proficiency in CAD software and Microsoft Office.

- Bachelor of Science degree
- coursework in fluid mechanics
- coursework in thermodynamics
- coursework in mechanics
- coursework in machine design
- minimum of two years of related experience
- Understanding and ability to apply engineering mathematics (up to and including algebra, trigonometry, and calculus)
- Testing and lab experience including both manual data collection and data collection via electronic instrumentation
- Bulk solids handling and/or pneumatic conveying
- R&D/New product development processes
- Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools
- Working knowledge of CAD software (such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks)
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents including process flow diagrams, P&ID's, and equipment arrangement, assembly, and manufacturing drawings
- Oral communications with peers, groups, and customers
- Presentation of testing results
- Technical report writing
