Test Equipment Interconnects Design Engineer

Job Summary
Design bespoke electrical interconnects and cables for power, signal, and data transmission within and between subsystems. Interpret sub-system requirements to generate electrical schematics and cable design definitions using Microsoft Visio and HarnWare work packages. Carry out investigations into cable problems and issues, developing solutions individually or as part of a project team. Support manufacturing to resolve production issues and assist in functional and environmental product trials. Define, deploy, and refine processes and best practices within Visio and Harnware, including electrical topology and 2D manufacturing drawing standards. Manage product data and change within Windchill or similar systems while designing assemblies based on electrical constraints such as current, screening, and EMC requirements.
Required Qualifications
- British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship
- HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS)
- Experience in the use of Visio and related products (Harnware)
- A proven ability to define, deploy, and refine processes and best practices within Visio and Harnware
- Thorough understanding of product data management and change management within Windchill or similar
- The ability to design cable assemblies based upon electrical constraints such as current, screening, signal types, volt drop, EMC and environmental requirements
- An appreciation of cable assembly production/process engineering
