Job Summary
Develop test procedures, operate mechanical and electronic instrumentation, and design test fixtures and programs to validate aerospace products. Prepare detailed test reports, analyze failure data, and lead troubleshooting efforts to resolve discrepancies. Manage test schedules, maintain equipment, and prepare pricing quotes while consulting with supervisors on workload and progress. Write technical documentation and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and customers. Requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, CAD proficiency, and programming skills in LabView or C++. Standard business hours with occasional overtime, weekend work, or travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or similar field
- General knowledge of electro/mechanical theory
- Working knowledge of testing practices and procedures
- Strong knowledge and experience with aerospace product development efforts
- Hands-on experience with integrating test articles and sub-assemblies for test
- Experience in technical writing
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work with different departments
- Working knowledge and skill in various types of hand and machine tool operation
- Knowledge of CAD (SolidWorks, Pro-E)
- Knowledge of programming (LabView, C++, VBA) and/or application development
- Ability to perform essential testing engineer tasks, including primarily sitting (often >75% of the day), with occasional standing, walking (around office, to printer, etc.) and sometimes climbing stairs
- Ability to use hands to handle or feel
- Occasional bending, stooping, reaching (overhead, low), twisting, and maintaining stationary positions
- Vision, hearing, and manual dexterity sufficient to perform necessary tasks such as using a mouse, handling document, operation phones and other office machinery
- Close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to occasionally lift or carry 10-25 pounds (files, boxes, equipment, etc)
Desired Qualifications
- Understanding of hydraulics and operation
- Understanding of electrical schematics and wiring
- Knowledge in MIL-STD, RTC, ISO etc
- Proficient in high pressure plumbing and tube fitting
