Job Summary
Develop detailed test plans and campaigns to validate flight hardware for Starship and Falcon 9 systems. Design requirements for new automated test systems and collaborate with cross-discipline teams to conceptualize and build validation tools. Conduct anomaly and failure investigations on hardware throughout its lifecycle while ensuring all testing adheres to strict safety protocols. Train personnel on complex test system operations and manage logistics for propulsion component testing. Work flexible hours and provide weekend support as needed for critical testing campaigns.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in physics or an engineering discipline
- 1+ years of experience working on mechanical, fluid, or electrical systems
- Able to work flexible hours and occasional weekend support as needed
- Able to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces as needed
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, Refugee, or Asylee (or eligible for required authorizations)
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with mechanical, drivetrain, and/or electrical engineering concepts
- Experience in a test-focused role
- Experience in a product ownership role
- Experience working with mechanical, drivetrain, and electrical measurement devices
- Experience working with complex mechanical and/or electrical systems and the ability to read drawings and system diagrams
- Mathematical, computer, problem solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with propulsion systems (e.g., high-pressure fluids, cryogenics combustion testing)
