Test Engineer

Job Summary
Execute manual and automated test cases, procedures, and scripts per the test scope and plan for all testing types and functions. Analyze requirements and technical specifications to build appropriate test cases and find or create test data. Develop and maintain business domain subject matter expertise to assist with the design and creation of the testing scope and test plan. Interpret, analyze, and communicate test results to agile teams, stakeholders, and management. Create defects for issues found during testing, providing detailed information on recreation steps, environment, components impacted, and error logs. Monitor defects and assist developers or team members with triage. Collaborate with automation engineers to define testing aspects for automation and review test automation implementation across the product family portfolio.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
- In lieu of degree three (3) cumulative years of related technical, domain experience or related experience required
- Basic knowledge of: Testing methodologies (black box, white box, regression, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of: Business requirements and use cases
- Basic knowledge of: Databases, APIs, mobile, windows, web applications
- Basic knowledge of: Test cases, procedures, and test scripts
- Three (3) years of related work experience
- Demonstrated experience working directly with business users
- Experience with testing at various levels (functional, integration, system, load, and performance testing)
- Experience working with iterative, waterfall, and agile methodologies
- Demonstrated experience in executing/administering test automation
- Demonstrated ability to work on complex projects and multiple project testing efforts concurrently
- Ability to understand and write complex data driven test scenarios, workflow testing, user stories, and behavior driven development
- Six (6) years of related work experience
- Ability to manage large and/or multiple project testing efforts simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to identify root cause problems and determine innovative sources for solutions and opportunities
- Demonstrated ability to drive complex testing solutions to completion
- Eight (8) years of related work experience
- A combination of experience, advanced degree or certifications may be considered
- Demonstrated experience leading a scrum team to improve software testing methodologies, technologies, and techniques
- Practical knowledge and experience in all phases of the SDLC
- Working knowledge of automated, load and performance testing
- Experience creating and updating software tester onboarding documentation, testing process and procedure documents
- Ten (10) years of related work experience
- A combination of experience, advanced degree or certifications may be considered
- Demonstrated experience simultaneously leading multiple scrum teams to improve software testing methodologies, technologies, and techniques
- Demonstrated experience compiling and reporting test results, metrics and issues to senior management
- Demonstrated experience working with automation development engineers to ensure requirements coverage, automation test quality and planning test automation execution
- Demonstrated experience working with third party vendors to track issues and resolve in a timely manner
- Ability to complete work in a traditional office environment under fluorescent lighting
- Ability to orally communicate
- Must be able to function while sitting at a desk viewing a computer and using a keyboard and mouse for three (3) or more hours at a time
- Must be able to travel across the enterprise
- Ability to work in a home office for continuous periods of time for business continuity
