Test Engineer I

Job Summary
Design, develop, and maintain test procedures, hardware, and software for electronic circuit board production. Review circuit board designs for testability requirements and prepare recommendations for testing documentation from the product design phase through initial production. Support manufacturing with failure analysis, tester debugging, and reduction of intermittent failures and downtime. Generate reports and analysis of test data, and direct engineering personnel in the fabrication of testing apparatus. Determine test conditions, sequences, and phases while performing moderately complex assignments for standard and custom devices. Analyze test data to prepare technical reports and develop or use computer software and hardware to conduct tests on machinery. Adhere to safety rules, company security policies, and established standards including ISO and QS.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science in Electronics or Electrical Engineering from four-year college or university
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Ability to lift and carry PC's and test equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
- Ability to use computer monitor screens a great deal of time
