Job Summary
Design, develop, and maintain test procedures, hardware, and software for electronic circuit board production. Review circuit board designs for testability requirements and generate reports analyzing test data to reduce intermittent failures and downtime. Direct engineering personnel in fabricating testing apparatus and coordinate the calibration of instruments required to record and reduce test data. Determine test sequences and conditions while performing moderately complex assignments for standard and custom devices. Develop computer software and hardware to conduct tests on machinery, providing training to production testing staff on new procedures. Adhere to safety regulations and company security policies, with work split between office and manufacturing floor environments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science in Electronics or Electrical Engineering from four-year college or university
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Ability to lift and carry PC's and test equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
- Close vision
- Use of computer monitor screens a great deal of time
