Job Summary
CSU Test Engineer provides technical expertise, training, and consultative support for Commissioning and Startup activities across assigned projects. Supports testing planning, turnover coordination, material management, quality control, and environmental, safety, and health requirements. Role requires schedule flexibility with overtime and support for day or night shift operations. Responsibilities include installation configuration validation, test planning, test document development, sequencing and resource planning for CSU execution, preparation of equipment test records and Pre-Operational testing binders, participation in construction-to-CSU turnover walkdowns, coordination with field engineers to support component/system turnovers, initiating and tracking punch lists, performing and monitoring equipment testing to ensure compliance with requirements and approved procedures, and ensuring safety and alignment with schedule and cost objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program (Chemistry, Physics, or related fields acceptable)
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Must meet DOE O 426.2A requirements (e.g., engineering or related scientific degree, 2 years job-related experience, and 1 year nuclear experience or approved alternative)
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must pass a drug screening
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance badge
- Requires the ability to obtain a DOE Q-level security clearance (current clearance not required for consideration)
- Prior experience as a CSU Test Engineer
- In-depth knowledge of NFPA 70E
- Previous DOE or DOE-related experience including ORR
- ABET-accredited engineering degree; Chemistry/Physics or related fields acceptable
