Job Summary
Maintain advanced test bench systems for Waukesha engines and gensets, diagnosing and resolving issues with engine controls, tuning, cooling, and PLC systems. Perform engine and generator testing, analyze performance data, and report results while connecting and disconnecting three-phase generators up to 13.8kV per safety standards. Lead root cause investigations for test failures, collaborate on solutions with maintenance teams, and prepare technical reports for stakeholders. Work with data acquisition and facility infrastructure to optimize testing processes and support customer factory witness testing. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards while identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Red Seal - Ontario Trade Colleges, 442A Industrial Electrician licence or 309A Licence
- Solid understanding of reciprocating engine and generator performance dynamics
- Strong knowledge of 3 phase power systems
- Good knowledge of industrial protocols such as: Modbus, CANbus, EtherCAT
- Several years of hands-on experience with troubleshooting electrical systems
- Familiarity with test bench operation, data acquisition, PLCs, and facility support systems (cooling, fuel, electrical supply), Generators
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience performing quality inspections and ensuring compliance with quality standards
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes
- Able to work on multiple shifts and weekends as required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Waukesha engines or similar power generation equipment
- Background in industrial test environments or power generation facilities
- Knowledge of instrumentation, controls, and automation systems
- Familiar with Waukesha product line
