Job Summary
Test Automation Engineer specializing in SD-WAN who designs, develops, and maintains automated test scripts and frameworks for forwarding features; collaborates with engineering/QA to translate feature requirements into automation scenarios; creates automated tests for forwarding plane functionality including policy, path selection, and traffic-based measurements; analyzes results, troubleshoots defects, and delivers detailed reports; integrates automation into CI/CD pipelines with Git/GitHub/Jenkins; supports defect reproduction and triaging focused on automation issues; documents test plans, frameworks, and results; leverages AI-powered tools to enhance efficiency; provides final handover documentation and knowledge-transfer sessions.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in test automation for networking or SD-WAN solutions
- Strong programming skills in Python and scripting languages -YAML, JSON, C (good to have)
- Hands-on experience with Git/GitHub, Jenkins, and automated deployment pipelines
- Experience with automation test frameworks (such as vTest, pyATS or similar)
- Familiarity with networking concepts like routing and switching (forwarding, traffic engineering, and policy-based routing)
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for SD-WAN forwarding features
- Collaborate with engineering and QA teams to translate feature requirements into automation scenarios
- Creation of planned automated tests covering forwarding plane functionality
- Analyze automation results, identify and troubleshoot defects, and deliver detailed reports
- Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Git, GitHub, and Jenkins
- Support defect reproduction and triaging with a focus on automation-related issues
- Document test plans, automation frameworks, procedures, and results
- Leverage AI-powered tools to enhance test automation efficiency
- Deliver handover documentation and conduct knowledge transfer sessions
