Job Summary
Test and Approvals Engineer to plan, execute, and manage fire and performance testing of passive fire protection and insulation systems to support product development, system validation, and regulatory compliance. Serve as the technical authority for fire testing programs, coordinating with external labs, preparing test specimens and documentation, and driving listings/approvals from testing to certification. Develop installation details and system drawings, translate test results into engineered system designs, and ensure alignment with real-world applications. Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management, Sales, and R&D; manage a continued test pipeline and travel up to 40% for witnessed tests and coordination. Based at the facility in Maryville, TN. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field and 5+ years of experience in fire testing or technical engineering, with knowledge of standards such as ASTM, NFPA, UL, and IBC.
