Job Summary
Territory Sales Representative responsible for direct sale of new, used and rental John Deere Construction & Forestry equipment to assigned accounts from lead generation through quote and close. Build and maintain strong customer relationships focused on long-term mutual growth. Responsibilities include tracking bid results to identify opportunities, determining customer needs and appraising equipment configurations, performing trade evaluations and price calculations, writing bid specifications for government bids, conducting product demonstrations, providing operations and maintenance training on deliveries, and representing the company at trade shows and industry events. Maintain CRM records, provide timely sales reporting, stay current on product knowledge, ensure safety guidelines are followed, and travel within the assigned territory. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, five years of outside sales experience, knowledge of construction/industrial equipment, excellent communication and presentation skills, strong negotiation and business acumen, CRM proficiency, and the ability to travel up to 80%. Physical ability to access and demonstrate equipment and operate a company vehicle is also required. The role offers uncapped commissions with reported earning potential and growth opportunities within a family-owned, established organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Five years of proven outside sales experience
- Knowledge of construction and/or industrial equipment operation and applications
- Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills
- Strong presentation skills and professional appearance
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Strong written communication skills with exceptional presentation
- Negotiation and business acumen
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and CRM systems
- High energy, excellent self-motivation and work ethic
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to travel up to 80%
