Job Summary
Expand and cultivate existing accounts while establishing new ones to drive sales growth. Provide accurate sales forecasts, conduct competitive analysis, and analyze market segments to identify opportunities. Strategically plan daily activities using CRM and a structured call frequency system to optimize sales opportunities. Conduct sales promotions, educational meetings, and lead generation activities to foster strong customer relationships. Recommend pricing changes within established guidelines based on market dynamics and competitive analysis. Address customer complaints promptly, investigate issues, and recommend solutions to ensure customer satisfaction. Maintain thorough sales records, including customer profiles and territory/account sales records. Perform material take-offs, prepare quotes, enter orders accurately, and proactively follow up to ensure lead times are met.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of proven direct sales experience
- Thorough understanding of the building products industry
- Sales management experience in dealer, distribution, and/or two-step channel segments
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills
- General knowledge of major competitive brands within the industry
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Solid time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities effectively
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with a high level of integrity and personal motivation
- Being adaptable and open to new ways of working
- Ability to bounce back from setbacks, stay focused, and maintain productivity during challenges
- Be willing to adapt to new processes, technologies, and ways of thinking
- 5% travel outside of territory, with upwards of 25% in future
- Must be at least 18 years of age to apply
