Job Summary
Conduct sales calls and face-to-face meetings to meet quarterly and annual targets across Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Washington DC, and Virginia. Present Tosoh chromatography products to R&D and manufacturing clients while developing leads through scientific publications and company tools. Analyze sales data quarterly, maintain customer files in contact management software, and provide forecasts to management. Travel up to 35% of the year domestically and occasionally internationally to customer sites and scientific conferences. Based in Research Triangle Park, NC, this role reports to the National Sales Manager with no supervisory duties.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or related field
- Three to five years of experience working in biotechnology sales or laboratory experience that includes HPLC or downstream purification
- A working knowledge of chromatography and the biopharmaceutical industry
- Working knowledge of contact management, internet, email, spreadsheet, and word processing software
- Effective negotiation skills
- Strong understanding of the basic concepts involved in a sales process
- Self-motivated and self-disciplined to execute the major duties and responsibilities of the position while working remotely
- Possesses the ability to identify, establish, and maintain strong relationships with potential customers including scientists, senior management, and purchasing groups
- Fluent English verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- The ability to interact with colleagues and customers from multiple disciplines at all levels
- The ability to get along with others and succeed in a team environment
- Ability to travel domestically, by both auto and air, up to 35% of the work year
- International travel may also be required (one or two annual trips)
- Ability to speak clearly so that others can understand
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time, including as a driver or passenger in an automobile
- Ability to visit and move around at customer sites
- Must be based in the Research Triangle Park, NC area
