Job Summary
Understand strategic and operational goals of assigned territory and distribution partners to identify mutually beneficial solutions using data, analytics, and competitor knowledge. Proactively implement actions to achieve territory goals while leading new business and transfer processes, including setting expectations and managing commitments for delivery. Leverage tools like Salesforce and Seismic to increase operational efficiency, gather partner feedback, and share continuous improvement opportunities. Collaborate with claims, servicing, and product partners on problem solving, sales practice reviews, and portfolio management meetings to drive profitability and revenue growth. Requires frequent travel throughout Texas with potential overnight stays and a valid driver's license. No employer-sponsored work authorization available.
Required Qualifications
- Must live within the assigned territory
- Must be based in the Austin metro area
- Must possess a strong background in the independent agency distribution channel
- Must have carrier-side sales management experience
- Must have a combination of carrier and agency-side experience
- Must possess the proven ability to lead through influence
- Must have a track record of success in building results
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must have a safe driving record
- Must be able to work overtime
- Must be able to travel frequently throughout the territory
- Must be able to perform overnight stays
- Must be able to engage regularly in person with agency partners
- Must have undergraduate studies in general business, insurance, sales, marketing or related fields
- Must have eight to ten years of sales or sales management experience
- Must have prior property casualty or financial services experience
- Must have the ability to uncover root causes of issues and evaluate risks/benefits of different solution options
- Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective customer/distribution partner relationships
- Must have the ability to establish clear responsibilities and processes for monitoring work and measuring results
- Must have the ability to readily adapt personal/interpersonal behavior and adjust in the moment
- Must have strong level communication and presentation skills
- Must have expert knowledge of how to break down objectives into appropriate initiatives and actions
- Must have the ability to drive results, persuade, collaborate and act with courage
- Must regularly and consistently demonstrate the Nationwide Values
Desired Qualifications
- Preferably based in the Austin metro area
- A combination of carrier and agency-side experience is especially ideal
- Prior property casualty or financial services experience desirable
- Undergraduate degree preferred
