Job Summary
Territory Manager for BD/BDPI Oncology with primary responsibility to sell the full BD/BARD Oncology product line across oncology, interventional radiology, and related specialties within the NYC region. Responsibilities include planning and executing sales calls to manage the territory, training clinical personnel on product use and benefits, staying informed on pricing, backorders, and policies, developing in-depth knowledge of products and oncology applications to communicate value, and maintaining strong customer relationships through problem solving and tailored solutions that improve patient outcomes. The role requires consultative selling, strong communication skills, and the ability to analyze market changes and provide feedback to management. The position emphasizes on-site collaboration with limited remote options, adherence to company policies, and regular reporting (sales summaries, expense reports, product tracking, account targeting, and complaint reports). The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent outside sales experience, medical device sales experience preferred, and a track record of effective territory management and customer engagement in a healthcare environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of outside sales experience required; Medical Device Sales experience preferred
- Two or more years of outside sales experience or equivalent
- Demonstrated human relations and communication skills
- A thorough understanding of needs-based / consultative selling
- Product knowledge of BDPI Oncology products
- Surgical and/or procedural knowledge adequate to illustrate product benefits in oncology-related applications
- Basic anatomy
- Medical and surgical terminology
- Excellent listening and communication skills
