Job Summary
Cultivate solid relationships with agents to achieve direct written premium goals by developing and executing individual agency business plans. Manage and develop the agency plant through a minimum number of monthly calls, distributing timely reports, and addressing agency needs as directed. Provide market intelligence to assist Sales and Product Development with rate revisions, new product development, and competitive selling advantages. Travel approximately 75% of the work week, mostly day travel and occasional overnight travel within the Central/Eastern New York territory, and report to the Western Strategic Business Center Regional Operations team.
Required Qualifications
- College degree or equivalent work experience
- 5 plus years' experience in the P&C industry with an agency management orientation
- Sales and marketing background with ability to promote our brand
- The ability to travel approximately 75% of work week, mostly day travel and occasional overnight travel within territory
- Travel to home office in Buffalo to attend required meetings and events, as needed
- A valid driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- Commercial Lines Underwriting experience
- CPCU and other industry designations
- Previous Agency relationships within the local insurance industry
