Job Summary
Develop terminal master plans and functional plans by evaluating future passenger demand, operational requirements, and infrastructure constraints to create phased planning strategies. Analyze demand forecasts and operational data to identify capacity needs, then evaluate the performance of passenger processing areas like check-in, security, and baggage systems to spot constraints. Lead terminal planning studies for gate planning, passenger flow, and facility expansions while reviewing consultant studies to validate assumptions and ensure alignment with project objectives. Engage operational, commercial, and regulatory stakeholders to gather requirements and build consensus on recommended solutions. Prepare technical reports and presentations that communicate findings, risks, and proposed solutions to architects, engineers, and various audiences.
Required Qualifications
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a RAIC
- College degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, Airport Planning, Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline
- 4 to 6 years of experience in airport planning, municipal planning, transportation planning, infrastructure planning, facility planning, architecture, engineering consulting, or a related planning environment
- Experience developing or contributing to master plans, functional plans, facility plans, transportation plans, land use plans, infrastructure plans, or similar planning initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to analyze demand, capacity, operational requirements, and spatial constraints to support planning recommendations and future development strategies
- Experience evaluating how people, vehicles, infrastructure, or facilities move through and interact within complex environments to support planning and design decisions
- Ability to develop and assess planning scenarios, evaluate alternatives, and recommend practical solutions that balance operational, stakeholder, and long-term planning considerations
- Experience working with internal stakeholders, consultants, operators, government agencies, and technical subject matter experts to gather requirements and develop planning solutions
- Working knowledge of project management principles, including coordinating multiple stakeholders, managing timelines, and supporting planning projects through completion
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex planning concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Knowledge of planning principles, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and design considerations applicable to airport, municipal, transportation, infrastructure, or facility planning environments
- Must be able to work in the office up to five (5) days per week depending on business needs
