Job Summary

Lead safety and environmental compliance by enforcing PPE usage and reporting hazards to supervisors. Coordinate daily production and maintenance schedules while performing quality control sampling and testing. Monitor fuel consumption and controlled temperatures, reporting deviations immediately. Oversee shipment preparation, bills of lading, and blender operations to ensure accurate counts and weights. Maintain daily tank sheets and advise management on inventory shortages or obsolete items. Conduct maintenance inspections, delegate tasks, and provide repair recommendations to department managers. Accept on-call responsibilities for troubleshooting and repairs across all terminals. Gain comprehensive knowledge of product storage temperatures, compatibility, and terminal physical operations including tank capacities and flow patterns.

Required Qualifications

  • Leadership role in assuring work performed is done in a safe and environmentally conscious manner
  • Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times
  • Ability to report all safety and environmental concerns to the safety and terminal supervisor(s)
  • Coordination with daily production and maintenance schedules
  • Performance of tasks in a safe and efficient manner while following all Jebro and Knife River guidelines
  • Monitoring and recording fuel consumption and controlled temperatures on all heating systems
  • Comparison of previous readings and reporting deviations to plans to the terminal supervisor(s)
  • Performance of daily quality control sampling and testing on an 'as needed' basis
  • Adherence to the Jebro Quality Control Program
  • Performance of duties involving preparation of shipments, bills of lading, and blender operations
  • Oversight of receipt and shipment of materials to insure proper count, weight, and identification
  • Responsibility for the accuracy, timely input, and maintenance of daily tank sheets
  • Advice to terminal supervisor(s) and/or maintenance supervisor of 'dead', obsolete, or shortage of inventory and/or maintenance items
  • Determination of disposition for inventory and/or maintenance items
  • Base knowledge of all products handled within the operations department
  • Knowledge of storage and shipping temperature ranges of products
  • Knowledge of compatibility of products
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental considerations of every product
  • Understanding in the physical operation of the terminal
  • Knowledge of the location of all tanks
  • Knowledge of capacities of all tanks and pumps flows
  • Knowledge of operation of blending equipment
  • Knowledge of advanced maintenance and repair of pumps and valves
  • Knowledge of valve and material flow patterns from tank to tank and tanks to loading racks
  • Knowledge of valve and material flow patterns in both steam heating and hot oil heating system(s)
  • Ensuring that equipment, machinery and furnishings in all terminals are maintained in an organized, safe, and operable condition
  • Work closely with operations personnel and department managers
  • Ensuring that all maintenance and repairs are performed in a manner that is consistent with federal, state, local, and company guidelines
  • Conducting and/or delegating maintenance inspections
  • Providing a summary of maintenance recommendations to the appropriate departmental manager(s)
  • Accepting an 'on call' role regarding assistance with repairs and/or trouble-shooting techniques at all terminals
