Job Summary
Operate terminal equipment for receiving, storing, transferring, and loading liquid bulk products via trucks, pipeline, rail cars, water vessels, or tanks. Perform gauging of storage tanks, temperature readouts, and product sampling while conducting daily, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual maintenance and compliance inspections. Complete daily meter readings, calculate product inventories, and calibrate additive injection systems. Maintain facility logs, issue work permits to contractors, and ensure strict adherence to safety policies, lockout-tag-out, and confined space entry requirements. Participate in emergency situations as assigned and communicate product outages or equipment downtime. This safety-sensitive position requires working outdoors in extreme weather, handling heavy objects, and climbing heights. Overtime and flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays are required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential Card (TWIC)
- Must complete a drug screen
- Must complete a functional employment physical
- Must complete a background check
- Strong team player with the ability to work independently
- General knowledge of steam boilers, hot oil heaters, loading racks, product blenders and automation systems
- Ability to perform all required mathematical calculations with or without the use of a calculator
- Ability to work outside for long periods of time in any weather condition
- Ability to work overtime as necessary
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and/or holidays
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Normal physical mobility, which includes heavy lifting, heights, bending, stooping, climbing and working with hand tools
- Normal physical mobility, which includes the ability to stand; walk; move across large areas including uneven terrain, sometimes quickly
- Normal physical agility, which includes ability to maneuver body while in place
- Normal physical strength to handle 90-pound objects, taking frequency into consideration
- Ability to lift 75 lbs. on a regular basis
- Ability to use up to 100 ft./lbs. of force to operate cycling valves
- Must be able to climb heights in excess of 60', ascend stairs or ladders, work atop tanks, traverse metal walkways at heights
- Normal dexterity of hands and fingers
- Normal coordination, including eye-hand, hand-foot
- Normal endurance
- Normal concentration/intensity, which includes prolonged mental effort with limited opportunity for breaks
- Normal memory, taking into consideration the amount and type of information
- Normal complexity of decision making
- Ability to make decision under pressure
- Normal ability to see, distinguish colors, hear, smell and taste
- Normal sense of touch
- Normal amount of overtime or extended work hours required
Desired Qualifications
- Basic computer and Microsoft Office experience and experience with terminal automation software - such as Toptech - is preferred
- Industry experience preferred
