Job Summary
Loads tanker trucks and offloads rail cars to minimize spillage, dust, and contamination while operating small equipment like bobcats and forklifts. Diagnoses equipment malfunctions to determine root causes and repairs plant machinery including compressors, pumps, and gearboxes with limited supervision. Maintains grounds through mowing, landscaping, and snow removal, and performs minor electrical repairs. Communicates verbally with plant personnel using hand-held radios and makes recommendations to prevent problem recurrence. Works outdoors in extreme heat and cold, standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Must be available for night and weekend shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of plant operating systems
- Knowledge of machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
- Good computer skills
- Ability to work outdoors with exposure to extreme heat and cold
- Ability to work nights and weekends when needed
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
