Job Summary
Manage driver accountability, training, and Hours of Service compliance for assigned drivers while overseeing daily dispatch operations using TMS software. Conduct continuous Ride-Alongs with drivers to capture performance data, monitor KPIs, and optimize fleet usage. Administer payroll submissions, coordinate hiring and terminations, and manage terminal maintenance, grounds, and supply procurement. Investigate incidents and accidents in accordance with federal regulations, establish relationships with repair vendors and leasing companies, and serve as the primary point of contact for customers. Ensure all department forms are completed accurately and communicate schedules effectively to drivers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in management, transportation or a related field
- Five to ten years experience in management
- Five years transportation experience
- Experience in dispatch
- Experience in tractor fleet maintenance
- CDL Driving
- transportation safety
- strong interpersonal skills
- good communication skills both written and oral
- ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
- excellent personal computer skills
- working knowledge of Microsoft Office products software i.e.; Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Extensive knowledge in Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and CTPAT
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in management, transportation or a related field is preferred
- combination of Associates Degree and Experience
- Experience in TMW and Peoplenet or similar
