Job Summary
Oversee daily dispatch management using TMS software and supervise assigned drivers and Transportation Supervisors. Manage driver accountability for DOT compliance, CTPAT, and company policies while enforcing Hours of Service regulations and reviewing driver logs. Coordinate driver training, attendance records, time-off requests, and payroll submissions. Conduct regular Ride-Alongs to capture performance data and optimize service, then assist in investigations of incidents and workplace injuries. Monitor KPIs and productivity goals, manage terminal operations including maintenance, janitorial, and supply procurement, and establish relationships with customers, leasing companies, and repair vendors. Participate in hiring processes and performance reviews for assigned drivers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in management, transportation or a related field
- Five to ten years experience in management
- Five years transportation experience
- Experience in dispatch
- Experience in tractor fleet maintenance
- CDL Driving
- transportation safety
- strong interpersonal skills
- good communication skills both written and oral
- ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
- excellent personal computer skills
- working knowledge of Microsoft Office products software i.e.; Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Extensive knowledge in Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and CTPAT
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in TMW and Peoplenet or similar
