Job Summary
Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff while providing coaching, counseling, and performance evaluations. Oversee daily terminal workflow, schedule employees, and manage projects to ensure financial goals and continuous improvement. Handle discipline, termination, and employee/customer concerns in accordance with company policy. Enforce DOT and OSHA safety rules, monitor risk, and develop compliance plans. Maintain relationships with customer contacts and communicate sales opportunities to the Sales department. Monitor overtime and perform additional duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite applications including Word, Outlook and Excel
- Minimum 5 years of related experience
- Staff supervision experience
- Familiarity with DOT and OSHA regulations
- Experience managing a location of similar scope
- Prior experience as a dispatcher or driver
- Some travel to corporate office and other locations
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements
- Proven ability to motivate, develop, and mentor staff in order to optimize their performance
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Solid communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to change
- Strong customer service orientation, ensuring needs and deadlines are met in a timely fashion
