Teradata DBA - Technology Services Lead

Job Summary
Manage the day-to-day activities and functions for the assigned Teradata DBA team, including delegating tasks, supervising work processes, and providing leadership and mentorship to sub teams. Create and manage on-call rotation schedules to ensure support for off hours, weekends, and release windows while solving complex technical issues. Prioritize multiple assignments, track tickets in systems of record, and participate in defect, incident, problem, and change review meetings. Serve as the Point of Contact for triaging high-priority incidents and consulting engagements, acting as a delegate for administrative processes and access reviews. Work with application project teams to implement database changes and establish alerts, monitoring, and dashboards for new initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years experience as a Teradata DBA
- some experience with Teradata V17.20 or higher
- Advanced working knowledge of Teradata RDBMS at both physical and logical levels
- Advanced working knowledge of Teradata suite of tools: Teradata Studio, TDWM, BTEQ, ARCMAIN, FASTOAD, MLOAD, TPUMP, TPT, DBQL, PDCR
- Working knowledge of Mainframe interfaces and execution; TDP, JCL, TSO, ISPF, FICON, NDM
- Working knowledge of Viewpoint, Teradata Data Mover, Teradata BAR technology
- Working knowledge of Unix/Linux scripting (KSH, BASH, PERL)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to provide high level weekly written status report to manager
- Ability to solve complex technical and analytical issues
- Ability to effectively communicate results to senior management and Line of Business partners
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and assignments
- Ability to track tasks and tickets in system(s) of record
- Ability to participate in defect, incident, problem, and change review meetings and release activities
- Ability to perform access reviews, conduct compliance activities, and serve as a delegate for administrative processes
- Ability to create the on call rotation schedule
- Ability to ensure support for off hours, weekends, and release windows
- Ability to delegate work to team members
- Ability to supervise work processes
- Ability to provide informal leadership of sub teams or technology silos
- Ability to manage on call and support schedules
- Ability to provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to team members

- Ability to work with appropriate teams to ensure alerts, monitoring, dashboards, and processes are established appropriately for new projects and initiatives
- Ability to participate and help with resource interviews and onboarding processes
- Ability to ensure enterprise service level agreements are met
- Ability to attend any required team meetings/calls
- Ability to complete any assigned training courses
Desired Qualifications
- Familiar with Teradata Systems setup, GDO, DBSControl, Multitool, etc.
- Working knowledge of QueryGrid, DSA, Taraserver, NPARC, TASM
- Working knowledge of job schedulers: CA-7, AutoSys, etc.
- Familiar with Replication technologies, Golden Gate
- Familiar with REXX scripting
- Familiar with Hadoop and Cloud concepts and technologies
- Familiar with project and change management solutions and automation software, such as Agile, Remedy, Ansible
